Nelson Tasman Business Trust

Nelson Tasman Business Trust is a Charitable Trust offering free, confidential advice services to local businesses through the Nelson Tasman region - small to medium size, new and existing.

Nelson Tasman Business Trust is an Agency for Business Mentors New Zealand with 85 volunteer mentors from throughout the region.Mentors have a variety of business skills and expertise from a wide variety of backgrounds, with an understanding of the challenges facing small businesses and a real commitment to giving something back to the business community.Approximately 150 busineses benefit annually from mentoring. To be eligible a business should have been trading for a least 6 months and employ less than 25 staff.

New Zealand Trade & Enterprise (NZTE)

New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) is the Government's national economic development agency. It works to stimulate economic growth by increasing the number and size of New Zealand businesses operating successfully - from starting out, to exporting and operating as international businesses, through training and market development assistance. NZTE services, which include programmes to build international contacts, improve performance and provide access to capital and investment, are tailored to business needs. It is a global organisation and uses its overseas networks to provide the international connections businesses need to grow internationally and to attract investment into New Zealand.

Business Development Company

The Business Development Company (BDC) is Nelson and Tasman's premier business skills training organisation. BDC provides short, flexible courses to instantly upskill people at work, meaning less downtime. BDC is 100% local, owned jointly by the Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology and the Nelson Tasman Chamber of Commerce. The courses are good value with reasonable prices for top quality training and eliminating potential travel expenses.

BDC delivers the Enterprise Training Scheme for the Nelson Tasman region. Business assessments are provided, with up to date short course training and one to one follow up coaching. The scheme is fully funded for small to medium enterprises by New Zealand Trade & Enterprise, enabling hundreds of local businesses to grow and be successful.
